New National Sales Manager

Tornavoz Music, distributor of leading nylon-string guitar brand Córdoba Guitars, has hired MI industry veteran David Hager as its new National Sales Manager. Formerly the National Sales Manager at Taylor Guitars, Hager will lead the Tornavoz sales team in strengthening and creating relationships with music dealers around the US.

“I’m excited to come on board at Tornavoz and Córdoba,” says Hager. “They are dedicated to offering the finest instruments, and I look forward to helping them grow their acoustic-guitar market share. In my 20 years working in the guitar business I’ve built great relationships with many MI retailers, and I’m eager to help Córdoba expand its retail partnerships.”

During his 12-year tenure at Taylor Guitars in the regional, then national, sales manager positions, Hager developed a diverse sales-management skill set, including product development, product-line strategy, key account management, dealer product education, sales and growth strategy development, and budget development and forecasting. Prior to his work at Taylor, Hager spent five years on the Martin Guitar sales team.

“We’re excited to welcome David to the Tornavoz family,” said Managing Director Jonathan Thomas. “He brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge, and we’re confident his history of success will help us accelerate Córdoba’s growth.”

Tornavoz Music builds and distributes the world’s leading nylon-string guitar and accessory brands, including Córdoba Guitars, Jose Ramirez Guitars, Sakurai-Kohno Guitars, HumiCase™, Savarez Strings and Aquila Strings. Contact Tornavoz at (310) 586-1180 or info@tornavozmusic.com

Cordoba Releases New Loriente Collection

The Loriente Collection’s five distinctive models represent the best in traditional old-world Spanish guitar craftsmanship. Completely handmade in Spain, the guitars are constructed with the finest all solid tone woods, and adhere to the traditions and techniques of renowned Spanish guitar makers: Torres, Santos Hernandez, Manuel Ramirez, and Domingo Esteso. Select models are finished with a hand rubbed French Polish—a lightweight and resonant finish method used by violin makers since the early 1500s. Each guitar design adheres to the strict specifications of the classic Spanish guitar: the scale length is 650mm, nut width is 52mm, and the bracing is a Torres-style fan pattern that allows for thin and lightweight construction of the top, back, and sides. Street prices range from $1,699 to $4,300.
