Hiring: Director of Marketing

Summary

Córdoba Music Group (CMG) is seeking a passionate, strategic and driven Director of Marketing to lead its Marketing department. Responsible for the vision and growth of proprietary musical instrument brands, Córdoba, Guild, HumiCase, and DeArmond, the Director of Marketing will be instrumental in determining and executing cohesive brand vision, brand positioning, product launches, and strategic marketing objectives that drive brand awareness and growth. This role owns all strategic aspects of marketing including but not limited to content and creative strategy, public relations, print and social media, media buying, artist relations, and internal marketing communications.

This position reports directly to the President and regularly collaborates across all departments: Global Sales, R&D, Product Management, Operations and Supply Chain. The right individual for this role is passionate about music, building brands, a natural leader and collaborator, open-minded, results-oriented, creatively disruptive, and most of all, exudes fun in everything they do. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced growing company, so the right candidate is comfortable in “start-up mode,” has the energy and enthusiasm to be fully integrated in the Musical Instrument industry, and can demonstrate the discipline to maintain a high-elevation strategic view while also leading by doing.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate & protect CMG’s distinct brand voices and tones throughout all campaign work for global brands: Cordoba, Guild, DeArmond, HumiCase
  • Create business case and strategic rationale for global brand plans including opportunity assessment, financial impact and feasibility analysis
  • Structure and maintain the Global Marketing Budget
  • Plan, produce and drive B2B and B2C marketing campaigns and programs across all consumer touch-points (traditional, digital, experiential)
  • Manage our internal team, freelancers, consultants and agency resources to ensure quality and on-time delivery of the work and overall project goals
  • Establish KPI’s for campaigns to track, strategize and optimize performance for ongoing campaign development and planning
  • Perform detailed market research and continually look at competitive environments
  • Conduct ongoing insights and stay on top of trends to make recommendations for merchandising, packaging and product improvements to maximize long term potential
  • Oversee Artist Relations Program to maintain close partnerships with influential bands and musicians

 Requirements

  • 5+ years or a detailed proven track record of senior-level marketing leadership experience
  • Experience working directly under C-suite
  • Proven track record of brand building, ideally in consumer products
  • Ambition! Resourcefulness and the energy to advocate for and implement change
  • Strong leadership and management skills; proven success leading a high-performing cross-functional team
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, think critically, manage multiple priorities and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Balance between detail and data-oriented, organized and structured, but also flexible, adaptable and open minded
  • Passion for guitars, artists and music instrument retailers and end-users
  • Charismatic, professional, outgoing, friendly, trustworthy and approachable personality
  • Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office. Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress
